Former High School Soccer Star Brianna Long

Brianna Long a former Georgia high school soccer was shot and killed Saturday morning at a Remerton bar, where she worked as a bartender.

Around 2:30 a.m., Remerton police responded to reports of a shooting at The Pier Bar (formerly known as Flip Flops) in Valdosta and found 21-year-old Brianna Long critically wounded. First responders rushed her to the South Georgia Medical Center where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

Savannah Morning News reports that investigators determined gunfire erupted outside the bar around 2 a.m. as Long and a coworker finished closing down the bar.

Police stated a bullet struck long inside the midst of an altercation that came about inside the status quo’s car parking zone.

“Many consumers were outside for the duration of the taking pictures and multiple vehicles have been shot,” the Georgia Bureau of investigation (GBI) said. “this case is energetic and ongoing.”

The GBI has not found out what sparked the altercation. Investigators are actually searching for the shooter(s), however, no extra statistics have been supplied.

Channel 2 Action News reports that Long was the “Regional Winner for Positive Athlete Georgia” while attending Paulding County High School in the 2019-2020 school year.
